Loma Clark
I am a native Yuman, who retired when I sold The Flower Mine flower shop in 2007, and began to do volunteer work at the shelter . I showed Irish Setters ,Welsh Springer Spaniels and Welsh Cardigan Corgi's at AKC Dog Shows for 20 years , having taken one of my Irish Setters from is first points to his championship to a All Breed Best in Show.
My main interest has been the transporting of animals out of town in the "Rescue Express" van. I coordinate getting weekly trips planned and try to get about 100 animals moved each month. I've gone from being a full time volunteer & Board member to being a full time employee, and then back to being a full time volunteer and board member again.
My passion is to try and save as many animals as we can at the shelter by way of adoptions and sending animals out of town to rescue groups and other shelters so that they get another chance at being adopted. I'm also very interested in our Spay/Neuter program and the TNR of feral cats. Our shelter is always in need of the community's help and support, and our vision is to the future opening of a new shelter.
