Giving up ownership of a pet can be difficult and if you dread the idea of bringing your pet to the animal shelter, Adopt-a-pet.com wants to help. All adoption fees collected by Adopt-a-pet will be donated to the Humane Society of Yuma, when you use the following link. rehome.adoptapet.com/r/73424
The Humane Society of Yuma has partnered with Adopt-a-pet.com to set up an alternative re-homing method to surrendering your pet to the shelter.
In 2017, 1,394 animals were turned over by their owners for various reasons; that accounted for 16.1% of the total animal intake. The adoptions/rehoming for these animals are NOT contracted through the Humane Society of Yuma, and the Humane Society of Yuma is NOT liable for any issues associated with the pet and/or its new or previous home. The surrendering owner will not receive any monies from this program and should be reported to Adopt-a-Pet.com if the current owners are requesting funds.
Adopt-a-pet.com requires these pets to be spayed/neutered and up to date on vaccines. When dealing with private owners/citizens, there is no guarantee that these animals are up to date on vaccines, spayed/neutered or properly licensed, but is required when ownership is transferred. This program is aimed to reduce the intake of owner surrendered animals at shelters across the nation. All proceeds from the transactions made through this specific URL will be donated to the Humane Society of Yuma.
If the adoption is processed through our unique URL the Humane Society of Yuma will receive notification of adoptions completed through this program. New adopters will then receive a suggested follow-up guide and incentives to ensure that their new pet is spayed/neutered, has a microchip, license and is up to date on vaccines.
